69 Airborne Force Holds Closing Ceremony for Air Force Special Task Unit Course 1/24

The 69 Airborne Force has held closing ceremony for the third batch of trainees of Ghana Air Force Special Task Unit Course 1-24 in Tamale on Friday 18 October 2024. The ceremony which took place at the Forecourt of Air Force Base Tamale, crowns what commenced on Monday 2 September 2024 with a total of 39 personnel. The ceremony began with a demonstration which included Close Quarter Battle drills.

The Guest of Honour, Commander Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah Larkai in his address thanked all participants and congratulated them for the successful completion of the course. He acknowledged the fact that the training was not easy and yet the participants thrived to achieve success. He advised them to continue giving out their best when they are assigned tasks since a lot would be expected of them.

He charged the participants to live by example, inspire those around them and never loose site of the values as Soldiers. He also urged them to conduct themselves with pride, discipline and above all, with integrity.

The Commanding Officer of the 69 Airborne Force in his welcome remarks stated that, the collaboration between the Ghana Army and the Ghana Air Force is a clear demonstration of the power of joint effort in the Ghana Armed Forces. He mentioned that this underscores the critical importance of inter service cooperation and how stronger the Armed Forces can be when they combine expertise and resources.

 

He also stated that the training had enhanced participants’ physical fitness, developed their combat skills and mind set for the effective conduct of base camp security.

He expressed his gratitude to the Chief of the Army Staff and the Chief of Air Staff for giving them the opportunity to run the course. He further thanked the Commander Air Force Base Tamale for his support. 

Present at the ceremony were the Command Operations Officer HQ Northern Command, Col Gyebi Abrokwah, Commanding Officer 93 Signal Regiment Lt Col Benjamin Adjei, Commanding Officer Engineering Wing Squadron Leader Benjamin Adumuah Ocquaye, Second in Command 6 Infantry Battalion Major Owusu Agyeman, Training Officer Major Hubert Nartey, Officers, Air Force Cadets of Regular Career Course 63 (RCC 63) and Soldiers of 6 Garrison.
