155 Armoured Regt

Lt Col PA Hoffman was commissioned into the Armour Corps of the Ghana Army in 2004. Currently, he serves as the Commanding Officer of the 155 Armoured Regiment in Damongo, Savannah Region, Ghana.

Lt Col PA Hoffman holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana, Legon. He has a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science in Defence and International Politics, from the Ghana Institute of Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Master of Arts Certificate in Defence Studies from the Kings College, London.

He has done all mandatory military courses up to his current rank. He attended the Basic Military Law Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Legal Directorate. He had his Young Officers and Combat Team Commanders Courses at the Army Combat Training School, Teshie, Accra. He also attended the Junior and Senior Command and Staff Courses at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. Additionally, he attended the Advanced Joint Services Command and Staff College, Shrivenham, United Kingdom.

Since his commission, he has held positions as Troop Leader and Squadron Commander in the Armoured Recce Regiment, as well as an Instructor at the Ghana Military Academy. At both the Junior and Senior Divisions of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Lt Col PA Hoffman served as Directing Staff. Additionally, he was seconded to the Rwanda Defence Forces Command and Staff College as Directing Staff. Before his appointment as the Commanding Officer of the 155 Armoured Regiment, he was a member of the Directing Staff at the Senior Division of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

Lt Col PA Hoffman has served in the following appointments and capacities with the United Nations Missions; Troop Leader and Officer Commanding the Battalion Mobile Reserve in UNIFIL, South Lebanon. Officer Commanding the Quick Reaction Company of the Ghanaian Battalion with UNMIL and a Second in Command, VIP Escort, Ghana Battalion, UNOCI. Regarding staff appointments, he served as a Military Observer in MONUSCO, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Lt Col PA Hoffman is married and the union is blessed with children. At his leisure, he enjoys playing football and volleyball, listening to good music and watching investigative documentaries.
