The Commander of the Army Training Command, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Joshua Amanor, paid an official working visit to the Army Special Operations Training School in Daboya on Friday, 1 May 2026.

The visit forms part of an ongoing tour of units and schools under the Command, aimed at strengthening oversight and deepening understanding of their operations.

On arrival, Brig Gen Amanor was briefed on the school’s operational and administrative state. This was followed by a durbar, during which he engaged with officers, instructors and Defence Civilian Staff on key concerns and set out his expectations. A major highlight of the visit was the commissioning of 3 newly completed facilities: a barbering shop, a tailoring shop and a cookhouse.

Brig Gen Amanor commended the school’s leadership for driving these projects and emphasised the need for a strong maintenance culture, noting that the durability of such infrastructure is essential to sustaining operational effectiveness.

The Commander also interacted with recruits currently undergoing training. He reiterated that standardisation remains a top priority for the Command and stressed that the demands of military training will not be relaxed.

While congratulating the recruits on their selection, he encouraged them to remain disciplined and resilient throughout their training as they prepare for service.
