Lieutenant Colonel Godfred Asampong was commissioned into the Ghana Armed Forces with RCC 46 as an Infantry Officer and posted to 1 Inf Bn on 08 Sep 2006.
He had his Secondary education at Prempeh College and proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he studied Economics and completed in 2003.
He has done all courses commensurate to his rank including Young Officers’ Course (YOC) at ACTS, Junior Staff Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Combat Team Commanders Course at ACTS and a Company Commanders Course at the Egyptian Infantry Institute in Egypt, Senior Staff Course at GAFCSC and Battalion Commanders Course at the Army Training Command. He also attended Battalion Commanders Course at the German Infantry School, Hammelberg.
He has held several appointments such as Pl Comd, IO, Adjt, OC at the 1 Inf Bn, Second-In-Command at 3 Bn, Commanding Officer, Central Command Headquarters, Deputy Army Secretary at the Army Headquarters and Currently Commanding Officer 10 Mechanised Battalion. He has participated in several United Nation missions namely MONUC, MINURCAT, MONUSCO, UNIFIL and UNAMI.
He is married and blessed with 3 daughters. His hobbies include admiring nature, playing handball and basketball.

His Civil Educational Qualifications Include A Master Of Arts In International Security And Strategy From Kings College, London ( 2013 – 2014) And An Executive Master Of Business Administration (Human Resource Management) From University Of Ghana, Legon (2006 – 2007).
