Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Bashiru Issah enlisted into the Ghana Military Academy on 5 Aug 2000 as part of Regular Career Course Intake 42. He was commissioned in 2002 and subsequently posted to the Armour Corps of the Ghana Army.
He attended and completed Apam Senior High for his secondary education he holds a Diploma in Public Administration, Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA) and Master of Science Degree in Defence and International Politics all at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Lt Col Issah has served in the capacities of Troop Leader, 3 Mounted Squadron and Officer Commanding at the then 2 Independent Recce Squadron.
Lt Col Issah has done all mandatory courses commensurate with his rank in the military. Notable among them are Young Officers Course, Junior Staff Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College – GAFCSC, Combat Team Commanders Course at the Army Combat Training School, Teshie, Senior Staff Course - GAFCSC.
He is a veteran Peacekeeper having served in United Nations Peace Support Operations in Ivory Coast, Congo and Lebanon.
His hobbies include watching documentaries on animal planet and site seeing.
