Airforce Cadets Pay Visit to 69 Airborne Force Tamale

The Flight Cadets of Regular Career Course 63 (RCC 63) from the Ghana Military Academy on Friday 11 October 2024 paid a visit to the 69 Airborne Force in Tamale as part of a 7-week Exercise at the Air Force Training Command, Tamale.

The visit was aimed at providing the cadets with knowledge on Operational layout and administrative activities of the Unit.

On arrival, the Training Officer of the 69 Airborne Force, Maj HB Nartey gave the cadets detailed central briefing on the Organisational Structure, the Role and Responsibilities of the 69 Airborne Force.

 The Commanding Officer (CO) of the 69 Airborne Force, Lt Col LY Boakye in his remarks warmly welcomed the Flight Cadets to the Unit and expressed his delight at receiving them.  He highlighted the core mandate of the Unit since its establishment, laying emphasis on its current designation as a Special Force Unit.

He further mentioned that, the Unit’s re-designation as Special Force is in relation to the conduct of special ground and air operations as a Quick Reaction Force and Reserve to influence operations conducted by the Ghana Army.

The CO encouraged the cadets to continue giving out their best and advised them to remain professional and discipline in all their endeavours as professionalism, loyalty and discipline among others are the bedrock of every officer.

The visit was climaxed with a tour of the Unit to help the cadets gain better understanding of the Unit’s operations and challenges they might face in a real battle situation. The cadets also witnessed a demonstration by the Special Force Operatives indicating their readiness in addressing and countering potential security threats.
