Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Franklyn Worlanyo Agbebo has paid operational visits to 6 Infantry Battalion, 10, 11 and 12 Mechanized Battalions and the Joint Task Force Unit in Bawku from Wednesday 18 June to Saturday 21 June 2025.
The 4-day visit formed part of his maiden tour of Units within the Northern Command following his recent assumption of command. The GOC received comprehensive briefings from the Commanding Officers (CO) in their respective Units. The brief included the operational structure, training programmes, equipment maintenance, administrative needs, logistical capabilities and welfare measures implemented as well as the challenges within the Units.
Brig Gen Agbebo as part of his tour inspected key installations, facilities and on-going projects in the Units. He visited the detachments and held all ranks durbars in the various Units to interact with troops. This provided the opportunity for open dialogue, allowing troops to express their concerns.
The GOC emphasized the importance of regular visits to detachments by Unit Commanders to strengthen monitoring and supervision. He also proposed the implementation of mobile training initiative where instructors would travel to remote locations to deliver on-site training to troops.
He commended the Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff for their professionalism, hard work and dedication to the Units amidst various operational challenges and reaffirmed his support for their welfare and operational needs.
He urged troops to continue working hard to achieve a common goal for the advancement of the Command.
