UNIFIL GH 92 Concludes MLT Phase, Commences MSVT Phase.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Ghana Battalion 92 (GHANBATT 92) has concluded its Mission Leadership Training (MLT) on Monday, 14 July 2025 at the Army Peace Operations Training School (APOTS), Bundase.

This ushers in the second phase of the pre-deployment training which is the Military Skill Validation Training (MSVT). The three-week MLT equipped key appointment holders of the battalion with essential knowledge in Military Peacekeeping Intelligence, Military Decision-Making Process, and engagement strategies, leading to the award of certificates.

The seven-week MSVT phase, however, aims to enhance the operational competencies of personnel, preparing them for the varied situations they may encounter in the mission area, and further strengthening their individual and collective skills. The Guest of Honour for the ceremony, Chief Coordinator Army Training Command, Colonel (Col) Prince Tandoh commended the participants for their commitment and urged them to draw on experiences from previous peacekeeping missions to deepen their understanding and resilience.

“The Ghana Armed Forces has couched an enviable niche for itself internationally as an eminent force in international peacekeeping theatres. Your role is to further consolidate this position and raise it even to higher pedestals”, he added. On the MSVT phase, Col Tandoh urged all troops to partake in the training and sharpen their military skills to enable them execute assigned tasks effectively.
