The 1 Infantry Battalion (1 BN) of the Ghana Army held a colourful passing-out parade for 38 trainees of the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) Ghana Limited Security Task Force on Friday, 10 October 2025, at the Unit Parade Square, Michel Camp.
The two-week intensive training programme was designed to equip participants with the requisite skills and discipline to effectively carry out their duties as members of the TDC Security Task Force.
The trainees received lessons in endurance and physical training, access control, checkpoint duties, report writing, first aid, and emotional intelligence. The course also emphasised teamwork, discipline, and professionalism, which are core values of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Addressing the parade, the Reviewing Officer and Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr Courage Kweku Makafui Nunekpeku, commended the Ghana Armed Forces for their continuous support and partnership in building the capacity of TDC personnel. He noted that the training had instilled in the participants a strong sense of patriotism, orderliness, and commitment to duty.
Mr Nunekpeku urged the trainees to uphold the values of discipline, loyalty, integrity, and professionalism as they assume their various responsibilities within the corporation. He further encouraged them to serve with honour and project a positive image of TDC in all their undertakings.
He also announced TDC’s plans to collaborate further with the Ghana Armed Forces in future training programmes to ensure that all recruits and National Service personnel undergo similar orientation, enhancing discipline and efficiency within the corporation.
Certificates were presented to the trainees in recognition of their successful participation and completion of the course.
Present at the ceremony were the Commanding Officer, 1 Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Adams, Head of Security, TDC, Colonel Theophilus Tawiah (Rtd), and senior management of TDC.
