As part of activities to mark the end of the year, the 66 Artillery Regiment and the Artillery Training School, in collaboration with sister security services in the Ho Municipality, organized fun games to promote unity, relaxation and esprit de corps among personnel.
The event formed part of the 2025 End-of-Year West Africa Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA) and was held from 5 to 6 January 2026 at the Regiment’s football park, Volta Barracks.
The Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Jalali Din Ibrahim, in his remarks stated that the fun games provided personnel with an opportunity to unwind after a demanding year of service while strengthening inter-service cooperation and camaraderie. He encouraged participants to carry the same level of enthusiasm, teamwork and esprit de corps into the new year.
Various institutions took part in football and volleyball competitions, which were keenly contested and generated excitement among both participants and spectators.
The event successfully boosted morale and served as a fitting way to end the year, reinforcing unity and collective strength among security personnel in the Volta Region and Mother Ghana as they prepare for the year ahead.
At the end of the competition, the 66 Artillery Regiment emerged as the overall winners, with the Defence Civilian Staff placing second and the Ghana National Fire Service securing third place.
