CO 2BN Conducts Rank Decoration Ceremony for New RSM, OPS WO

The Commanding Officer of the 2 Infantry Battalion (2 Bn) of the Ghana Army, Lieutenant Colonel Philip Tetteh Nartey, has conducted a rank decoration ceremony for the newly appointed Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), Senior Warrant Officer Class II (SWOII) Alemawor Emmanuel, and the Unit Operations Warrant Officer (Ops WO), SWOII Owusu-Kumi Samuel.The ceremony took place on Monday, 5 January 2026, in the Commanding Officer’s office at the Battalion Headquarters, Myohaung Barracks, Takoradi. The two soldiers were decorated with the rank of SWOII following their promotion from Warrant Officer Class I (WOI) and subsequent appointments as RSM and Ops WO respectively.Lt Col Nartey congratulated them on their well-deserved promotions and appointments, and urged them to remain disciplined, dedicated, and professional in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the importance of their roles in maintaining high standards of leadership, discipline, and operational efficiency within the Battalion, and encouraged them to work assiduously to support the Unit in achieving its mission and objectives.In a brief handover ceremony held in the RSM’s office, SWOII Alemawor Emmanuel officially assumed duty as the new RSM from WOI Azure Ebenezer, who had been acting in that capacity since last year. The authority and responsibilities of the office were duly transferred, after which the Clergy inducted the new RSM and offered prayers, seeking divine guidance and wisdom for him as he undertakes the responsibilities of the office.
