Award Centre Ghana Donates Sports Kits to Ghana Army Volleyball Team

The Chief Executive Officer of Awards Centre Ghana, Mr Percy Paa Kwesi Amuah, has donated sets of sports kits to the Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu. The presentation took place on Friday 17 April 2026, at the Army Headquarters.The donation included 20 sets each of GCB Bank PLC-branded jerseys in Ghana colours, shorts, umbrellas, and socks. The items are intended for use by the Ghana Army Volleyball Team during the upcoming 47th African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Men’s Club Championship to be hosted in Kigali, Rwanda, from 20 April to 3 May 2026.In his remarks, Mr Amuah noted his long-standing relationship with the Ghana Army. He highlighted that it was an opportunity to support the team as they represent Ghana in the competition. He said it was an honour to help them appear smart, perform excellently, and bring home the trophy.According to Mr Amuah, the gesture continues a tradition upheld by his company and GCB Bank PLC. He expressed optimism that it will enable the team to showcase their talent and raise the flags of Ghana, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the Ghana Army, and their sponsors, as they compete to bring the trophy home.

Major General Gbetanu expressed gratitude for the generous donation and applauded Mr Amuah for being a reliable and credible supporter of the Ghana Army and the entire GAF. He expressed gratitude to Awards Centre Ghana for helping to kit out the team and was confident that the team would give their all.Also present were the Deputy Chief Staff Officer in charge of Operations and Training at the Army Headquarters, Brigadier General William Archibald Kwabiah, and the Chief G7, Colonel Issahaku Beyolten Mohammed.

The team is expected to leave for Rwanda on Monday 20 April 2026.
