CO Army Headquarters Camp Holds Durbar with Troops

The Commanding Officer (CO) at the Army headquarters Camp, Lt Col Solomon Fiifi Ewudzi on Thursday, 29 May 2025 held a durbar with officers, soldiers, and Defence Civilian Staff to reflect on recent developments and chart a course for the future. During his address, Lt Col Ewudzi expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the successes achieved by the Army Headquarters in recent months. He commended all personnel for their professionalism and dedication, particularly in the seamless reception and integration of the newly appointed Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu. The CO noted that this achievement was especially remarkable given the recent influx of new staff officers and soldiers, whose transition into the headquarters has been smooth and effective.Lt Col Ewudzi emphasized the importance of unity and inclusiveness, urging all personnel to warmly welcome the new appointees. He encouraged officers and soldiers alike to help their new colleagues quickly adapt to the established practices and cherished traditions of their respective departments, ensuring that everyone feels at home and valued as part of the Army family.A key highlight of the Commanding Officer’s address was his endorsement of the COAS’ vision for the Ghana Army, ‘to maintain a motivated Army grounded on core military values, enabled by adaptive technologies and platforms capable of projecting decisive land power as part of the Ghana Armed Forces’. Lt Col Ewudzi called on all troops at the Army Headquarters to align themselves with this vision, stressing that every individual’s contribution is vital to the collective success of the Army.In addition to strategic guidance, the Commanding Officer reminded personnel of the importance of maintaining a professional appearance. He urged troops to dress smartly and appropriately at all times, noting that such discipline is essential for earning respect both within and outside the military.Lt Col Ewudzi also cautioned troops to avoid any conduct that could bring disrepute to the Army, both on and off duty. He specifically warned against participating in unauthorized activities or duties, and encouraged all personnel to take advantage of the professional development courses offered by the Ghana Armed Forces to continually upgrade their skills and knowledge.The durbar concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among the officers, soldiers, and civilian staff, as they pledged to uphold the values of the Ghana Army and work collaboratively towards achieving the vision set forth by the Chief of the Army Staff.
