CO Southern Command Camp holds meeting with DCS in the unit

The Commanding Officer (CO) Headquarters Southern Command (Camp), Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) William Opoku, has held a meeting with the Defence Civilian Staff (DCS) of the Command on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at Kpeshie Ridge, to engage them on key administrative and operational issues affecting their work in the unit.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the CO to interact directly with the civilian workforce, acknowledge their contributions, and emphasise their vital role in supporting the Command’s mission, in fulfilment of the Ghana Armed Forces mandate.

Lt Col William Opoku outlined the Command’s expectations of the DCS regarding professionalism, discipline, punctuality, and teamwork, while also encouraging open communication and seeking redress through the chain of command. He also urged DCS to maintain high standards of service delivery and to collaborate with military personnel to improve efficiency.

The session also allowed DCS to raise concerns and make suggestions regarding workplace challenges, welfare, and administrative and logistical requirements. Lt Col W Opoku assured them of the Command’s commitment to addressing legitimate concerns and fostering a conducive working environment.

The Civilian Administrative Personnel Officer of the Command, Miss Catherine Appiah, called on DCS to renew their dedication to work, uphold mutual respect, and enhance cooperation to ensure the effective achievement of the Command’s objectives.
