The Army Headquarters hosted the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona to a Special Quarter Guard to welcome him to office on Monday, 6 January 2025.
This gesture followed his elevation to the rank of Lieutenant General by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Friday, 3 January 2025.
The Special Quarter Guard, formed by the Army Headquarters Reserved Company, demonstrated the Army’s respect and courtesy as well as admiration for the COAS’ achievements.
In his address to the Principal Staff Officers, Soldiers, and Defence Civilian Staff of the Army Headquarters, Lt Gen Onwona expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their support and prayers, which had contributed significantly to his success.
He urged everyone to continue supporting him with hard work and prayers, enabling him to deliver his best for the benefit of the Army and the Ghana Armed Forces as a whole.
