A 4-member delegation from the General Headquarters Resettlement, led by the Deputy Director Resettlement, Wing Commander Josephine Adjei-Ephraim has held a sensitization programme on the Ghana Armed Forces Provident Fund Scheme for personnel of the various Units under Northern Command, from Thursday 3 to Friday 11 April 2025.
The Deputy Director Resettlement stated that, Provident Fund Scheme was introduced into the Ghana Armed Forced in November 2009 with the aim of encouraging personnel to save in order to support their end of service benefits.
She indicated that, provident fund over the period had improved tremendously and sensitized personnel on the need to increase their fund in preparation towards retirement. She further stated that, lack of planning for retirement as service personnel makes life difficult outside the barracks, hence the need to increase their provident fund.
She advised personnel to prepare early and adequately towards pension in order not to depend on their children and families for financial support after retirement.
