A delegation from the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), led by the Head of the Strategic Communication Unit, Mr Roland Acquah-Steven, on Monday 26 January 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Service Public Relations Officer at the Army Headquarters, Colonel Evelyn Asamoah.
The visit aimed to familiarise the NSCS delegation with the Army Public Relations Office’s operations and personnel, while fostering mutual engagement, strengthening information sharing, and enhancing coordination in national strategic communication efforts.
Welcoming the delegation, Colonel Asamoah expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the growing collaboration between the Ghana Army and the NSCS. She reaffirmed the Army’s readiness to deepen its partnership with the Strategic Communication Unit to advance coherent, timely, and effective public communication.
Colonel Asamoah further recommended that the NSCS formally consider involving the Department of Public Relations (DPR) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as a key stakeholder in the national strategic communication architecture. She noted that DPR serves as the umbrella body coordinating the Public Relations Offices of the three services of the GAF, notably, the Ghana Army, the Ghana Navy, and the Ghana Air Force.
In his remarks, Mr Acquah-Steven underscored the importance of stronger networking and cooperation among all security services. He proposed developing an integrated digital campaign network to enhance coordinated public messaging, improve information coherence, and strengthen public trust in national security communications.
The NSCS delegation included the Deputy Head of Strategic Communication, Ms Bernice Hetor, Ms Abigail Shang-Quartey, and Mr Elliott Acquah. Also present at the meeting was Captain Millicent Aberese, Assistant PRO of the Ghana Army.
