A delegation made up of family members and Intake mates of the late Major General Joseph Narh Adinkrah (Rtd), former Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), has paid a courtesy call on the current Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday, 06 January 2026.
The purpose of the visit was to formally brief the COAS on arrangements for the burial of the late retired General.Major General Gbetanu expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, noting that the passing of Major General Adinkra had brought deep sorrow and rekindled cherished memories from the period they worked together.
He paid glowing tribute to the late former COAS, highlighting the invaluable lessons he imparted to colleagues and subordinates, as well as his immense contributions to the growth and professionalism of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the Deputy Defence Financial Comptroller, Colonel Tettey Matey, outlined the funeral arrangements.
He disclosed that the burial service is scheduled for Friday, 13 February 2026, at the Garrison Methodist-Presbyterian Church, Burma Camp, with interment taking place the same day at the Military Cemetery.
Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Chief Staff Officer(Operations and Training), Brigadier General Kwabiah, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Intelligence), Brigadier General Samuel Stanley Mezo, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Logistics), Brigadier General Jude Barry Mwinyel, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Administration), Brigadier General Alfred Botsoe, Asafoatse Agyemang Abadzi Dicka IV, Chief of the Plau Division of Somanya, and Dr Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng, who serves as the Head of the family.
