Ghana Army Female Team Features in GAVA 2025 Champions of Champions

The Ghana Army Female Volleyball Team participated in the Greater Accra Volleyball Association (GAVA) 2025 Champion of Champions competition held at the Nicholson Sports Stadium Annex, Burma Camp, on Wednesday, 5 November 2025.

The competition featured the Army Female Volleyball Team, the Knockout Champions, and the Kalibi Volleyball Club, the reigning League Champions. Each team presented a squad of 14 players for the contest. The Knockout Champions were coached by WOI Ernest Asante, while the Kalibi Volleyball Club was led by its President, Honourable Bernard Mornah.

Both teams battled through five intense sets, at the end of which the League Champions triumphed by three sets to 2 sets, securing the Champions of Champions Trophy. The Knockout Champions placed second with two points after a valiant performance.

Speaking at the event, the Chief G7 (Training) at Army Headquarters, Colonel Gabriel Mawuli Agboado, commended both teams for their resilience and teamwork.

He encouraged the Knockout Champions to remain united and stay focused on improvement, stating, “Tough game today, but remember we win as a team and we lose as a team.”

Head Coach WOI Ernest Asante also urged his team to take their training seriously and work on areas that need improvement to bounce back stronger in future competitions.

In attendance were Major Raymond Incoom, Major Meshack Acquaye, and Sports Officer Major Safianu Sulemana, all from G7 (Training) section at the Army Headquarters.
