Ghana Army holds end-of-year fun games

The Ghana Army as part of its initiatives to climax activities for last year has held an end of year fun games on Thursday, 9 January 2025 at the Ghana Armed Forces Sports Complex in Burma Camp.

The fun games involving both indoor and outdoor games were to enable personnel to take a break from office duties to relax, get entertained and to create more avenues for bonding. Some of the games played included mini soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, ludo, oware, draught, and tug of war. Prior to the games, personnel embarked on a 2.4 kilometer walk followed by some aerobic exercises.

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona in his remarks, expressed his excitement about everyone's engagement in the sports which is an important part of human development. He also elaborated that it was a good time to reflect on the past year and the years ahead, urging personnel not to forget the values that bind them together in their collective commitment to serving the nation.

COAS further applauded personnel for their dedication, hardwork and commitment despite being faced with some challenges and indicated that their shared determination to succeed brought a lot of achievements last year. Highlighting their invaluable contribution that made the difference, he urged all to renew their commitment to creating a better future for the Army, Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana as a whole.
