GOC Northern Command Pays Operational Visits To 11 Mech AOR

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Worlanyo Agbebo has paid operational visit to 11 Mechanized Battalion Area of Operational Responsibility (AOR) in Bawku and its environs on Thursday 26 September 2025.

The GOC as part of his tour visited Binduri, Kulungugu and other detachments where he interacted with the troops. At Binduri, the GOC encouraged the troops to remain professional and not to allow the isolated incident of the previous day discourage them. He urged them to dominate the ground by conducting series of operations as part of security measures. 

Brig Gen Agbebo also commended the troops for their professionalism and swift response in discharging their duties. He encouraged them to do their best in restoring calm and peace in Bawku and the Upper East Region as a whole.

The visit saw the GOC paying courtesy calls on the various Station Commanders of the Ghana Immigration and Custom Offices at Kulungugu Border Post. He expressed his appreciation to the Commanders for their continuous support and collaborative effort in maintaining law and order in Bawku and its environs.

The GOC urged them to continue to cooperate with the Military in order to create an environment conducive to peace and development. He encouraged them to share more information with the troops to ease their operations.

The GOC as part of the visit inspected the troops’ accommodation area and a four bedroom house which was handed over to the detachment by the Pusiga District Assembly to accommodate troops. He advised them to keep the accommodation and their surroundings clean at all times.

Present during the visit were the Command Operations Officer Headquarters Northern Command, Col John Yaw Kwarteng, Command Logistics Officer, Col Francis Kow Baah, Commander Rear 11 Mechanized Battalion, Lt Col Kakra Sasu-Antwi and  some Staff Officers from the HQ Northern Command.
