The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Worlanyo Agbebo has paid an operational visit to the 69 Airborne Force on Friday 10 October 2025 at Barwah Barracks.
During the visit, the GOC received a comprehensive operational brief highlighting the Unit’s operations, administrative and logistical state.
The presentation emphasized the Unit’s contribution to internal security operations and its rapid response capabilities in support of national defence especially amid the threat of terrorism and chieftaincy disputes within N/Comd’s AOR.
As part of the visit, the GOC inspected key installations and facilities in the Unit including the Medical Reception Station (MRS), accommodation blocks and the Unit’s on-going self-help projects.
At a durbar with all ranks, the GOC congratulated the Commander Rear, Lt Col Atta Junior Kwarteng on his appointment and urged all to support him to achieve the Unit’s vision.
He encouraged the Commander Rear to build on the solid foundation laid by the Commanding Officer.
He also commended the troops for their professionalism, dedication, and readiness to respond to emerging security threats. He encouraged them to cultivate the habit of saving by increasing their provident fund, desist from the use of hard drugs and sports betting, and refrain from any form of recruitment fraud.
