GOC Pays Operational Visits to 10 Mech AOR

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Worlanyo Agbebo has paid a 4-day operational visit to 10 Mechanized Battalion's Area of Operational Responsibility (AOR) in the Upper West Region from Monday 29 September to Thursday 2 October 2025.

The GOC as part of his visit held durbar with all ranks in the detachments, where he interacted with the troops, providing them the opportunities for open dialogues and allowing them to share their concerns.

Brig Gen Agbebo commended them for their performance so far. He urged them to dominate the ground by intensifying both foot and mobile border patrols along the Ghana-Burkina Faso Border.

He promised to deploy more resources to the various Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) to enable troops conduct smooth and successful border patrols. He also urged them to conduct more operations to gather sufficient intelligence on the happenings at the borders.

He charged troops to maintain discipline, uphold professionalism and remain committed to their duties. He also emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, physical fitness and care of equipment, urging all to handle their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with utmost care.

Brig Gen Agbebo advised them to refrain from any form of recruitment fraud, the use of hard drugs and sports betting.

He encouraged them to be financially disciplined by cultivating the habit of saving for the sake of the future.

The GOC as part of his operational visit inspected the various FOBs under construction in the command.

The visit saw the GOC paying courtesy call on the Immigration and Custom Offices at Hamile and Tumu Border Posts. He admonished Commanders to continue cooperating with the Military and intensify joint patrols along the borders.

Present during the visit were the Command Operations Officer Headquarters Northern Command Col John Yaw Kwarteng, Command Logistics Officer Col Francis Baah, Commander Rear 10 Mechanized Battalion Lt Col Obrimpong Kodua and some Staff Officers from HQ Northern Command and the 10 Mechanized Battalion.
