GOC Southern Command Commissions 1 Infantry Battalion's New Poultry Farm

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command, Brigadier General Isaac Nicholas Paintsil, has commissioned a modern 985-bird poultry farm at the 1 Infantry Battalion (1BN) on Friday, 12 December 2025.

 

This initiative forms part of the Ghana Armed Forces' nationwide commercial farming drive, encompassing poultry and other ventures to bolster self-sufficiency in food production and contribute to national supply chains.

 

The project operates under the Defence Industries Department (DID), reflecting the military's strategic push toward sustainable agriculture and economic diversification.

 

Brigadier General Paintsil's commissioning underscores 1BN's commitment to innovation and enhancing operational resilience while supporting broader national food security goals.
