GOC Southern Command Conducts Inspection of Duala And Kpeshie Barracks

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command, Brig Gen Isaac Nicholas Paintsil, has conducted an inspection of unit accommodation facilities within Duala and Kpeshie barracks at Burma camp and Kpeshie Ridge, on Tuesday, 26, and Wednesday, 27 August 2025, respectively, as part of efforts to ensure the welfare and well-being of troops.The inspection focused on evaluating the condition of living facilities within the barracks and verifying that they satisfied the standards for comfort, hygiene, and functionality. During the exercise, the GOC visited several accommodation blocks, interacting with soldiers and their families to identify challenges and areas that require urgent attention. Issues relating to structural integrity, sanitation, electricity, water supply, and general maintenance were noted. Brig Gen IN Paintsil emphasized the importance of a conducive living environment to the morale and operational effectiveness of personnel. He assured  personnel of the Command’s commitment to improving infrastructure and addressing identified deficiencies within the shortest possible time.The inspection demonstrates the Command’s continued commitment to prioritizing the well-being of its personnel while maintaining the highest standards of military accommodation across all formations.The GOC was accompanied by the Commanding Officer (CO) Headquarters Southern Command (Camp), Lt Col William Opoku, the Adjutant, Captain Abdul-Rahman, and Warrant Officers and personnel responsible for maintenance in the Command.
