The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku, Honourable Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, has presented a Mindray BC-10 Haematology Analyser to the Kpeshie Medical Centre (KMC) at Headquarters Southern Command. The donation, made on Monday, 1 December 2025, was in fulfilment of an earlier pledge to support the facility with essential medical equipment.The machine, valued at Fifty-Two Thousand Cedis (GHS 52,000.00), is expected to enhance the Centre’s capacity to provide quality laboratory services for both military personnel and civilians within the Ledzokuku Municipality. Hon Ayiku noted that the gesture formed part of his commitment to improving access to reliable and affordable healthcare for residents and troops who rely on the facility.
During an engagement with the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command and his staff, the MP also underscored the importance of fostering stronger partnerships between local authorities and MPs to drive development in their respective districts. He further pledged continued support to the Command and its medical facilities to strengthen civil-military cooperation in the area.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of KMC, Brigadier General Isaac Nicholas Paintsil expressed gratitude to the MP for the timely intervention. He stated that the analyser would significantly boost the Centre’s diagnostic capacity, allowing it to attend to more patients and reduce referrals to the 37 Military Hospital. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining a productive partnership with the MP to ensure a stable and secure environment in the Municipality.
The presentation was witnessed by the Nursing Officer in Charge (NOIC) Medical Pool, Colonel Patience Akuvi Dzigbordi Awumee, the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) at KMC, Major Etornam Atsufe Nuapah, and staff of the Kpeshie Medical Centre.
