The ECOWAS Stabilisation Support Mission in Guinea Bissau (ESSMGB) GHANCOY 4 on Sunday 5 October 2025 inducted Lt Col Isaac Keelson Ekow Amoah into Command.
The induction service was a non-denominational religious parade themed “Those who know their God will do exploits”. Lt Col Amoah and his troops were committed into God’s hands for guidance, protection and a successful tour of duty. The Combat Team Commander took an oath of allegiance while the troops vowed to serve with pride and remain loyal to his command.
The service was presided over by Reverend Samuel Dogbe, the national Head of the church of Pentecost in Guinea Bissau. In his sermon, he admonished personnel of the GHANCOY to remain loyal to the Combat Team Commander. A Quranic recitation from Quran Chapter 17:23 was given by Pte Kamil Mohammed Abdallah with emphasis on obedience and respect to parents, where parents represent any form of legal authority in the sight of Allah.
Speaking at the Induction service, Lt Col Amoah thanked the Military High Command of the Ghana Armed Forces for entrusting him with Command responsibilities of a Combat Team Commander. He also pledged to play his role effectively to support the ECOWAS mission in achieving its mandate.
The occasion was graced by the Resident Representative of the President of the ECOWAS Commission in Guinea Bissau, HE Ambassador Ngozi Ukaeje. The Force Commander, Brig Gen Edward Odinya Ojabo, Staff officers from the Force Headquarters and other ESSMGB Commanders were also in attendance.
