The Commanding Officer (CO) of UNIFIL GHANBATT 91, Lt Col IK Boako, has lauded troops of the battalion for their unwavering commitment and adherence to the principles of discipline and professionalism since their deployment in Lebanon.
Speaking at a Battalion’s picnic held on Thursday, 26 December 2024, at the Battalion Headquarters, UNP 5-66, Lt Col Boako emphasized that the dedication by troops continues to enhance the image of Ghana in the international peacekeeping environment.
He further noted that the festive season serves as an opportunity for reflection and the renewal of purpose. Urging troops to remain resolute in the discharge of their duties, particularly within the current security situation in the region.
The CO further added that, the gathering did not only showcase their unity but also reinforces their shared values of teamwork and resilience. Hoping that, troops would carry same energy and spirit in undertaking the tasks ahead.
The picnic, organized as part of activities to mark the Yuletide, featured an array of exciting competitions, including volleyball, weightlifting and badminton.
Headquarters Company emerged victorious sweeping the awards in volleyball, badminton, and weightlifting, displaying exceptional skill and teamwork.
