Maiden Edition of 16 Artillery Brigade PROMEX Cadre Begins

The 16 Artillery Brigade Promotional Examination Cadre officially began at the Artillery Training School in Akoefe Camp, Ho, on Monday 26 January 2026. The Cadre aims to prepare eligible candidates of the Brigade for the upcoming examination and to prepare Level A candidates who are writing the maiden Artillery Corps Special to Arm examination.

According to the Commanding Officer of the Artillery Training School, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Quaye, the Brigade has put together a comprehensive one-month cadre for officers preparing for this year’s promotional examination. The exercise has been divided into three phases, with the first phase lasting one week and focusing mainly on the practical exam. It will climax on Saturday 31 January 2026 with a field practical exercise. The second week will focus on selected topics from the written aspect, and the final phase, lasting two weeks, will be centred on officers writing the maiden special exams.

The Guest of Honour, the Commander of the 16 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Selorm Kwesi Amengor, indicated that the examination is a critical part of professional and career progression, hence the cadre is geared towards enhancing knowledge and overall preparedness for the upcoming promotional examinations.

He emphasised that promotion is rigorous, merit-based, and designed to identify and develop people who demonstrate professional mastery, exemplary leadership, unwavering discipline, and the moral courage required for higher command and staff responsibilities.

He urged candidates to approach the cadre with appropriate seriousness, to dedicate themselves fully, to make full use of the resources and expertise available, and to treat it as an opportunity for profound self-assessment and professional growth.

He further assured the candidates of the Brigade Headquarters’ continued commitment and support for maintaining high personal standards. He concluded by wishing the candidates the best of luck in the examination.
