The Meridian Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, Ghana led by Reverend Samuel Senana Asieni paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, at the Army Headquarters in Burma Camp on Wednesday, 16 April 2025.
The visit was to officially convey congratulations from the EP Church Ghana National on his recent assumption of office as COAS.
In his remarks, Reverend Samuel Senana Asieni expressed gratitude for the warm reception and prayed for God’s guidance for the COAS as he leads the nation’s army. He also extended the church’s well wishes and invited Major General Gbetanu to attend this year’s church Synod, scheduled for 16 to 18 May 2025.
In response, the COAS indicated that he was honoured for the visit and appreciated the church leadership for their kind wishes. Major General Gbetanu reflected on how the church shaped his values from an early age, reinforcing his commitment to faith and service.
