The Executive Committee of the Retired Commissioned Officers Association (RCOA), led by Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Samuel Yanyi Akorful (Rtd) paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General (Maj Gen) Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu at his office in Burma Camp on Monday, 9 June 2025.
The COAS warmly welcomed the RCOA delegation, who came to congratulate him on his appointment and elevation to the highest office in the Army. Brig Gen Akorful (Rtd) expressed optimism that the COAS would utilize his office to advance the cause of the Ghana Army.
Maj Gen Gbetanu appreciated the kind words and assured the association of his commitment to enhancing their wellbeing. He noted that it was time to tap into the rich experience of RCOA members.
As a token of appreciation, the COAS presented a customized plaque to Brig Gen Akorful (Rtd) and a Ghana Army customized Kente Stole to each executive member. A cash donation was also made to the association.
