UNIFIL Ghanbatt 92 Strengthens Ties with Rumaysh Community

In a dedicated effort to foster trust and strengthen relations with the local population, the Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) team of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, Ghana Battalion 92 (GHANBATT 92) conducted a community engagement walk in the town of Rumaysh, Lebanon on Thursday, 18 September 2025.

The initiative, led by Captain Erica Frimpong-Tenkorang, was designed to introduce the newly deployed Ghanaian Battalion to the community and build a strong, positive rapport with its residents.

The team engaged directly with shop owners and customers, initiating friendly conversations and listening to the community members.

This proactive outreach reflects GHANBATT 92's ongoing commitment to its peacekeeping mandate. By establishing impactful social connections and ensuring an open dialogue, the Battalion works to solidify the trust essential for regional stability.

The activity underscores the Battalion's dedication to fulfilling the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mandate as outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which tasks peacekeepers with ensuring a stable and secure environment while supporting the local population.

The engagement in Rumaysh marks a positive step in continuing the legacy of cooperation between GHANBATT peacekeepers and the communities they serve.
