The Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT 92) serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) marked a significant leadership transition on Saturday, 22 November 2025, as Colonel (Col) Michael Kwame Afreh Mfum, outgoing Contingent Commander (CONTICO) and Chief of the Joint Operations Centre at UNIFIL Headquarters, visited the Battalion headquarters at Al-Qawzah to bid farewell and introduce his successor.
During the visit, Col Mfum officially announced the end of his tour of duty and presented Col Atsu Agbenyegah as the new Contingent Commander. He commended the troops for their professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment, noting that their conduct had ensured a smooth and incident-free deployment.
