The Force Commander of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Lieutenant General Mohan Subramanian, has urged personnel to contribute positively to the mission’s objectives in South Sudan.He conveyed this message during his maiden working visit to Ghana Battalion 12 (GHANBATT 12) at their headquarters in Bentiu on Wednesday 8 January 2025.In his remarks, Lt Gen Mohan emphasized the importance of engaging with troops to better understand their operational activities. He encouraged the troops to strive for excellence and make a meaningful impact in their operations. During the visit, he received briefings on the Battalion’s operational, logistical, and administrative matters.The Force Commander praised the battalion for their professionalism and dedication to fulfilling their responsibilities, urging them to continue representing UNMISS with pride.Lt Gen Mohan was accompanied by the Sector Unity Commander Brigadier General William Ryarasa, the Deputy Sector Unity Commander, Colonel Adere Assefa, and staff officers from the UNMISS Force Headquarters and Mission Support Area.
