The Volta Regional Minister and the people of the Volta Region held a vigil in memory of the victims of the military helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday 6 August 2025.
The vigil was held on Sunday 10 August 2025 at the Nfojo Park in Ho. The Volta Regional Minister, Hon James Gunu in his message of condolence stated that, the fallen compatriots’ professionalism, patriotism and dedication to duty have left a deep impression.
He also extended his solidarity to the Ghana Armed Forces and the families of the victims whose demise caused pain that is beyond words.
As part of the ceremony, wreaths were laid in honour of the fallen compatriots. Hon James Gunu laid a wreath on behalf of the President and the people of the Volta Region while the Commanding Officer 66 Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Jalali Din Ibrahim also laid a wreath on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Togbe Adanu X, Paramount Chief of Goviefe Traditional Area laid a wreath on behalf of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and Dr Hintemann KK Mbroh, Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Teaching hospital laid the final wreath on behalf of Health Workers in the Volta Region.
