4 Garrison Observes 80th Remembrance Day

Personnel of the 4 Garrison, together with other security agencies in the Ashanti Region, on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, observed the 80th Remembrance Day. The solemn event featured a wreath-laying ceremony held in honour of all who lost their lives in the cause of peace. Highlights of the occasion included the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille, the reading of the Binyon Verses by Ex-Sergeant Osei Kwadwo, and prayers offered by the clergy. The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, laid a wreath on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana. The General Officer Commanding Central Command, Brigadier General Albert Sison Ogaja, laid a wreath on behalf of the security services in the region. Representing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Bantamahene Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI laid a wreath on behalf of the chiefs and people of the Ashanti Region, while Ex-Warrant Officer Class I Appiah George, Regional Chairman of the Veterans Administration Ghana, did so on behalf of all veterans. Parade contingents for the occasion were drawn from the Ghana Army, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and a contingent of veterans.Their participation added to the dignity and significance of the ceremony, which reflected the shared respect among the security agencies for their fallen comrades.
