The newly appointed Defence Attaché (DA) of Burkina Faso to Ghana, Colonel (Col) Yves Patrick Quedraogo, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General (Maj Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, at the Army headquarters on Monday, 12 August 2024. The visit was part of Quedraogo's familiarisation tour and introduction to the COAS after assuming office.
Col Quedraogo emphasised the importance of continuous commitment and collaboration between the two countries to address global threats, particularly in the sub-region. Maj Gen Onwona warmly welcomed Quedraogo and acknowledged Burkina Faso's crucial role in combating emerging security threats. He stressed the need for neighbouring countries to form alliances and engage in diplomatic dialogues to strengthen bilateral relationships and counter terrorism measures.
The COAS assured Col Quedraogo of the Ghana Army's readiness to collaborate and prevent future occurrences. He presented Quedraogo with a customised kente stole and plaque as a memento of his visit and wished him success in his endeavors.
