The Commanding Officer of the 2 Battalion of Infantry (CO 2Bn), Lieutenant Colonel Phillip Tetteh Nartey, has charged newly promoted soldiers to exercise authority responsibly in line with the regulations of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). Lt Col Nartey delivered this charge during a short rank decoration ceremony held for nineteen newly promoted Warrant Officers Class One (WOI) of the Battalion on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, at the Battalion Headquarters, Myohaung Barracks, Takoradi.
He noted that attaining the rank of Warrant Officer Class One represents the pinnacle of a soldier’s career and comes with heightened expectations and responsibilities. He therefore emphasized the need for the newly promoted officers to demonstrate exemplary conduct, professionalism, discipline, and self-control in all aspects of their service.
Congratulating them on what he described as an enviable and well-deserved achievement, the Commanding Officer personally decorated each officer with their new rank insignia. He concluded by urging them to continue working diligently and to mentor younger soldiers, serving as role models who would inspire others to emulate their professionalism and dedication to the military profession.
