On Friday, 8 August 2025, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command, Brigadier General Albert Sison Ogaja, on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Military High Command, visited the mother of Sergeant Addo Mensah Ernest, one of the victims of the recent military helicopter crash, at her residence in Danyame, Kumasi to formally inform her of the demise of her son.
In a solemn mood, the GOC paid tribute to Sgt Addo Mensah, describing him as a dedicated and hardworking soldier who carried out his duties with great enthusiasm and earned the respect of many.
He prayed for God’s protection over the mother and the entire family during this difficult period, assuring them that the nation stands with them in this time of tragedy.
The GOC was accompanied by the Commanding Officer of the 4 Infantry Battalion (4Bn), Lt Col Emmanuel Wumbeidow, the Chaplaincy, Command Sergeant Major, SWOI Kalasi Daniel, the Regimental Sergeant Major of 4Bn, SWOII Asula Ibrahim, and other key appointment holders.
