Members of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) Regular Career Course (RCC) Intake 31, led by its president, Col (Rtd) RJ Komlagah have donated three (3) Table Top Refrigerators, two (2) Nasco Air Conditioners and a 43-inch Chigo Television set to the Kpeshie Medical Center (KMC) at Teshie on Friday 16 August 2024.The intake also donated Laboratory Chemistry Reagents, worth Fifteen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Cedis (GHC 15,750) to the facility as part of activities to commemorate its 33rd anniversary celebration since commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces, which coincidentally falls on the same day and date.
Col Rtd RJ Komlagah in a remark indicated that the group selected KMC as the beneficiary of the benevolence because in their days as cadets in the academy, the KMC was the first point of call for medical attention, which provided some form of comfort and respite for them from the rigorous life in the academy. He stated that KMC is historically renowned for providing medical aid to personnel of the erstwhile Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) now TRADOC, the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC)He appreciated the efforts of KMC, which helped sustain them both physically and mentally during their days in the academy and what it continues to do till date for cadets, military personnel, civilian staff and their families in the catchment area. He prayed that the items be put to good use.The Nursing Officer In Charge (NOIC) Col Henrietta Kumordzi and the Station Medical Officer (SMO) at KMC, Capt Eunice Asiedu-Perdison were both full of praise to the intake for the donation of the laboratory chemistry reagents, as it would enable the facility to run its own blood chemistry tests without having to refer patients to the 37 military hospital for such tests, as has been the practice for some time now. They praised the timeliness of the donation and thanked members of Intake 31 for the kind gesture. Members of the intake present at the ceremony included General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command, Brig Gen SY Asare, Director General International Peace Support Operations (DG IPSO), Brig Gen Augustine Asiedu, Principal General Staff Officer (PGSO) at the Ministry of Defence, Air Cdre Edward Gyamfi and Col Rogatus Komlaga (Rtd).
