Warrant Officer Class I (WOI) Awal Mohammed, a driver at the Ghana Armed Forces General Headquarters on Friday, 9 August 2024 presented a second locally built mini jeep to the Army Headquarters at the forecourt of the Army Headquarters Camp.
The mini jeep, named the ‘Ghana Army Mini Jeep,’ features a modernized design with an engine capacity of 150 cc. WOI Awal explained that this initiative arose from the challenges faced by various units in securing vehicles for operational duties, leading him to develop the Ghana Army Mini Jeep. He expressed confidence that, with continued support from the Military High Command, more advanced and electronic versions could be introduced to enhance the daily operations of the units.
The Deputy Chief Staff Officer for Plans and Policy at the Army Headquarters, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Yahuza Salifu, received the mini jeep on behalf of the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS). He commended WOI Awal for his innovative efforts, noting that every significant achievement begins at a foundational level and improves over time.
Brig Gen Salifu acknowledged WOI Awal's contributions and assured him of the necessary support from High Command. He encouraged him to share his knowledge and train others to foster continuity in production within the Army.
