The 6 Garrison has held a Joint Induction Religious Service to formally usher into office its four newly appointed Commanders comprising the Base Commander Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, the General Officer Commanding Northern Command, Brigadier General Worlanyo Agbebo, Commander Air Force Training Command, Air Commodore Richard Danso, and the Commanding Officer 69 Airborne Force, Lieutenant Colonel Evans Komedjah. The ceremony was held on Sunday 31 August 2025 at the Air Force Base Tamale, with the Northern Regional Minister Hon Ali Adolf John as the Guest of Honour and the Director General, Religious Affairs (DGRA) - Brig Gen Benjamin Godson Kumi-Woode as the officiating clergy.
Delivering his sermon under the theme "Espirit de Corps is a Force Multiplier", Brig Gen Kumi-Woode mentioned that, success in the military is the result of collective will, mutual trust, and shared sacrifice.
He urged the Commanders to maintain teamwork, lead with integrity, humility, and sacrifice to achieve a common goal. He also urged troops to remain loyal to their Commanders and assist them in achieving their mandates. In his homily, the Garrison Imam, Imam Abdul Rahim Yamusah prayed for divine wisdom, patience and strength for the newly inducted leaders. He emphasized that leadership is a trust (Amanah) that must be discharged with fairness in accordance with the will of God and for the benefit of the people they serve.
The Guest of Honour, in his address stated that, the ceremony carried great significance because it reflects our gratitude to God, acknowledges the sacrifices made by service personnel and symbolizes a rededication to peace and service in the five Northern Regions and beyond.
He extended his gratitude to the Military High Command for their pivotal role in repositioning security in the North and for their commitment to ensuring that, 6 Garrison remains a strong hold for security and a bridge between national defence and development.
Speaking on behalf of the inductees, the 6 Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi pledged their collective commitment to serving with integrity, courage and professionalism.
He assured that the new leadership would foster inter-service collaboration and empower troops to maintain peace in the Northern Sector and uphold the values of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The occasion also marked a solemn farewell service for personnel of 69 Airborne Force as they prepare for peacekeeping duties in Lebanon (UNIFIL GHANBATT 92).
The induction service brought together Generals, Senior Officers, State Officials, members of the Regional Security Council, Clergy, Traditional Leaders, and Families of service personnel.
