The 66 Artillery Regiment and the Artillery Training School celebrated their West African Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA) on Wednesday 22 January 2025 in Ho, Volta Region.
In his welcome remarks at the event, the Commanding Officer 66 Artillery Regiment, Lt Col Jalali Din Ibrahim commended Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff for their unwavering dedication to duty and service. He advised troops to remain committed to duty, uphold the spirit of teamwork, demonstrate readiness at all time and exhibit high sense of professionalism.
In a speech delivered by the special Guest of Honour, Brig Gen Selorm Kwesi Amengor, the Commander 16 Artillery Brigade, he commended Lt Col Ibrahim, Commanding Officer 66 Artillery and Lt Col Patrick Atuiri, Commanding Officer Artillery Training School, Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff for their exceptional performance in the discharge of their duties over the past year. He equally commended troops for ensuring peace and security in the Volta and Oti Regions.
The Guest of Honour also admonished troops to act professionally when discharging their duties with the sister security services. He again applauded both Commanding Officers for the developmental projects being carried out in their respective barracks. He concluded by admonishing troops to keep up the good work, and remain loyal and professional in contributing their quota to the success of the Regiment, Training School and the Brigade as a whole.
The event was climaxed with presentation of awards to personnel recognized for their hard work and commitment over the years. Dignitaries in attendance included Col Cyril Neku (Rtd), former Commanding Officer 66 Artillery Regiment, Col George Dottey, Deputy Commander 16 Artillery Brigade, Lt Col Patrick Atuiri, Commanding Officer Artillery Training School and Lt Col Felix Opoku, GSO1, 16 Artillery Brigade.
