Army Headquarters Training Branch Closes French Sponsored Combat First Aid Course

The General Staff Officer grade 1 (Training and Courses) Army Headquarters, Lt Col Daniel Ampadu has on Friday, 14 February 2025 closed a French Sponsored Combat First Aid Train the Trainer Course at the Support Services Command’s Multi-Purpose Hall.

The course which was aimed at training soldiers to efficiently provide combat first aid when the need arises, comprised ten participants drawn from the various Commands and Brigades of the Ghana Army.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the French Defence Attaché to Ghana, Col Gregoire Nadelin, commended the trainees for their commitment and hard work throughout the period of the course. He elaborated that, the course was very essential in the army, especially in fighting against terrorists and providing first aid to soldiers who get wounded in line of duty.

He further stated that the trainees had been trained to be instructors, urging them to impart the knowledge gained on the course by training personnel in their various units. He also advised trainees to work on their weaknesses to become perfect.

Col Nadelin expressed pride in the Ghana-France partnership and thanked the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Bismarck Kwasi Onwona for his support towards the success of the training.

During the ceremony, participants were given certificates of participation. Awards were also presented to some participants who excelled on the course. Staff Sgt Emmanuel Oppong and Sgt Cosmos Osei were awarded best trainees while the rest of the trainees were also presented with gifts.
