The Ghana Army has concluded a two-week pre-course cadre for 31 Army officers embarking on Senior Command and Staff Course 47 at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC). This was marked by a closing ceremony held at the Dohazari Auditorium of the Defence Mechanical Transport Battalion, on Friday 5 September 2025.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, The Deputy Chief Staff Officer, Operations and Training at Army Headquarters, Brigadier General William Archibald Kwabiah commended the 31 officers for successfully completing the two-week cadre in preparation towards the main Senior Command and Staff Course.
He stated that the Senior Command and Staff Course is a rigorous course which equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to function effectively as senior staff officers. Describing the training as their final career course, he mentioned that it is important for participants to undergo preparatory training to ensure that they excel in the course.
The Deputy Chief Staff Officer encouraged the officers to focus on competing with the demands of the course rather than among themselves, stressing that the objective was to build competent staff officers capable of transforming the system. He further urged them to cultivate self-directed learning habits and assured them of the continuous support of the Army Headquarters.
