The Ghana Army Headquarters has held a farewell ceremony to honour its 2024/2025 batch of National Service Personnel on Friday, 29 August 2025, at the Headquarters' Hall of Generals in Burma Camp.
The event celebrated a significant milestone in the lives of the National Service personnel, marking the completion of one year of dedicated service to the nation. The ceremony recognized their commitment, resilience, and patriotism, reflecting on their enthusiastic journey and desire to contribute meaningfully to the Ghana Army.
Brigadier General Lloyd Atror, Chief Staff Officer (CSO) at the Army Headquarters, conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Army Headquarters staff. He acknowledged the personnel's dedication throughout their service and expressed confidence that the experience they gained would serve them well in their future careers.
Brigadier General Atror encouraged the personnel to uphold the values of discipline, humility, and prioritization of needs as they transition into the job market. He also emphasized the importance of networking and continuing education to achieve their aspirations and goals. Wishing them success, he urged them to shine using the wisdom and experience gained during their time with the Army.
Speaking on behalf of the NSS personnel, Mr Richard Adetor expressed gratitude to the Ghana Army Headquarters for the invaluable opportunity to serve. He noted that the experience had a lasting impact, inspiring them to become better professionals. Mr Adetor thanked High Command, officers, soldiers, and Defence civilian staff for their support, guidance, and mentorship.
Reflecting on their collective journey, Mr Adetor highlighted the growth and camaraderie shared among the personnel. He urged his colleagues to carry forward the legacy of their service with honour, cherish the present, and face the future with hope and determination. He also expressed heartfelt thanks for the profound influence the Army Headquarters had on their lives.
As a symbol of appreciation, Brig Gen Atror presented each service personnel with a certificate and cash gift in recognition of their service.
