The Ghana Army has held a Guard of Honour for Major General (Maj Gen) Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, the new Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), at the Army Headquarters in Burma Camp, Accra on Tuesday, 25 March 2025.
This ceremony was held to welcome Maj Gen Gbetanu into office as he begins his tenure and to congratulate him on his promotion to the rank of a Major General by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, HE John Dramani Mahama on Monday, 24 March 2025.
Maj Gen Gbetanu expressed his gratitude for the gesture and encouraged everyone to rally behind him to advance the Army.
The COAS exchanged handshakes with Officers, Soldiers, and Defence Civilian Staff of the Army Headquarters, marking a symbolic start to his tenure.
