Headquarters Northern Command Receives Logistics Support from COAS

The Headquarters (HQ) Northern Command has received logistics support from the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS)-Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona as part of his continuous support to troops deployed at Bawku and Walewale. This followed the need to increase military operations in the general area of Bawku due to the resurgence of violence recently.

The equipment received on Friday 8 November 2024 at the HQ Northern Command by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei included armoured vehicles, Quad Bikes, Helmets, Fragmentation Jackets and mattresses, among others.

The GOC, on receipt of the equipment, expressed his deepest appreciation to the COAS for the kind gesture. He also stated that, the release of the equipment is a manifestation of the unflinching support by Military High Command to create a safe environment in Bawku and its environs. He added that, the logistics provided would go a long way to increase operational efficiency in response to emerging security challenges and complex threats in the area.

The GOC charged troops to ensure the items were used efficiently and maintained very well to prolong their service life. He assured the Military High Command and the general public that the troops would continue to work professionally to support the civil authority’s effort at maintaining law and order in Bawku and its environs.
