Leader Of ECOWAS Election Observers Team Visits ESSMGB GHANCOY

The leader of the ECOWAS Election Observer Mission to Guinea Bissau, HE Ambassador Baba Kamara, on Saturday 22 November 2025, led a delegation to visit Ghana Company 4 (GHANCOY 4) serving with the ECOWAS Stabilisation Support Mission in Guinea Bissau (ESSMGB).

The ECOWAS Election Observer Mission delegation was in Guinea Bissau ahead of the Country’s scheduled 23 November 2025 general elections. The delegation included the ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Ambassador Fatau Musah, the Ghana High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Baba Jamal, the Resident Representative of the President of the ECOWAS Commission (RRPC) in Guinea Bissau, Ambassador Ngozi Ukaeje, the Force Commander (FC), Brigadier General Edward Odinya Ojabo and the Technical Assistant to Ambassador Kamara, Mr Inusah Ziblim.

Ambassador Kamara as part of the visit interacted with all key Appointment Holders and later held a durbar with all ranks of the Company.

He commended the Combat Team Commander,  Lt Col Isaac Keelson Ekow Amoah for his exemplary leadership and improvement of infrastructure within the Camp. He stated that the RRPC and the FC had highlighted GHANCOY 4’s professionalism in the execution of its tasks.

Ambassador Kamara    urged the Combat Team Commander and his troops to stay committed to their mandate and continue working hard to keep the flag of Ghana flying high.

In his concluding remarks, he pledged to sponsor Portuguese language lessons for personnel of the unit in order to enhance interoperability between GHANCOY 4 personnel and personnel of the National Defence Force of Guinea Bissau.

Lt Col Isaac Keelson Ekow Amoah thanked Ambassador Kamara for the offer and expressed his appreciation to him for his visit with a presentation of GHANCOY 4 souvenirs.
