The US Naval Attaché, Commander (Cdr) Matthew Kohlmann on Wednesday, 19 February 2025 visited the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona at the Army Headquarters.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss issues of mutual benefit with the COAS after assuming office as the US Naval Attaché at the US Embassy.

Lt Gen Onwona welcomed Cdr Kohlmann and expressed gratitude for the visit and sharing of important ideas beneficial to strengthening the existing bilateral relations between the US and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The COAS was optimistic that the partnership between the Ghana Armed Forces and the US would continue to inure to the benefit of GAF.

Cdr Kohlmann also thanked the COAS for the warm reception given to him, assuring that he would build on the good works of his predecessor to bolster the partnership that exists between the US and GAF.

The COAS presented a customized Kente stole and a plaque to Cdr Kohlmann, while Cdr Kohlmann reciprocated with a present.
